Penetration sealing systems are critical in maintaining the fire rating and preventing the spread of smoke between fire compartments in walls and floors where mechanical, electrical and general services are present.
Current building legislation identifies that fire stopping and penetration sealing compliance is a crucial in retaining the integrity of a buildings fire compartments and maximises the amount of time available for people to escape from a building.
At Firetec, we utilise a variety of fully compliant products to achieve this, for example, Fire Barriers, Fire Compounds and Intumescent Sealants.
Where needed in extreme requirements some solutions can be accomplished to achieve up to 4 hours fire resistance.
Fire compounds can often be found installed to penetrations to service risers and plant room floors.
Linear gaps can be sealed in masonry walls to ensure that the passage of smoke, toxic gases and fire is supressed for up to 2 hours.
