Board Systems

These boards will often hold certain acoustic performance and be suitable to be used in various environments due to their moisture durability yet still offering the ability to have a decorative finish such as paint or plaster.
These board systems can also be used not just for structural steel protections but also to provide suitable fire and insulation protection to internal partitions and shaftwalls, service enclosures, ceilings and floors
Intumescent Paint Systems
Intumescent paint is a fast method of providing structural steelwork protection of up to 2 hours.
Whilst a look similar to paint, these thin film applied coats cover large areas of steelwork in a fast method and can be coated to a high gloss, coloured finish where a decorative aesthetic final appearance is required.
Intumescent coatings can be applied to areas to suit differing environmental conditions, such as swimming pools, car parks and general internal structures.
These coatings work by chemical reaction in a fire causing the coating to expand, sometimes up to 50 times its initial thickness creating a foam like insulation or “char” affect.
Due to this key element of the protection process is critical that all secondary casings fixed to structural steel members allows for this expansion.
